2002 was a good year for property sales in the
Northstar™ Resort. Baby  boomers continued  to  snatch up second homes, opting to put their money in real estate
rather than the stock market. Their interest in second homes is expected to continue, primarily due in large part to their fitness, outdoor lifestyle, and wealth. According to
the Tahoe Sierra Multiple Listing Service, 72 properties in the
resort sold in 2002
compared to 47 properties in 2001 (this number does not include the new  lots that
sold in the Overlook in Big Springs). Demand is high for entry level properties as 
evidenced  by the 38 condos sold. Although we keep hearing that the high end market
has slowed in California, 8 homes in the
resort sold for $1,000,000 or more. One home
sold for $1,800,000 and Mulloy Realty just sold a home that was listed for $1,539,000.
