Plumas County is located in northeastern California, where the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges converge providing unparalleled beauty and solitude. Recreational opportunities are available in every season. Some 292 miles of trails are maintained throughout the forest, including the Pacific Crest Trail. In addition to the abundance of hiking trails, there is camping, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, boating and wild life viewing. In the winter there is snowshoeing and cross country skiing.The area also caters to visitors and homeowners with several restaurants, including fine dining.
Graeagle Area
A former lumber mill, Graeagle features a quaint array of similar red buildings that house shops and services. The Graeagle Mill Pond is a popular swimming and picnicking site during the summer. Surrounded by mountain peaks and lush pine forest, Graeagle and its nearby communities are located in the idyllic Mohawk Valley through which flows the Middle Fork of the Feather River. Six pristine golf courses have made the area a renowned golf vacation destination. Graeagle is located roughly one hour from Reno via Highway 395 and State Route 70 or one hour from Truckee-North Lake Tahoe via Highway 89.

Gold Mountain is an environmentally sensitive, golf and recreation community of 401 custom homesites spread over more than 1280 forested acres. The development is a one hour beautiful drive from Truckee and one hour to Reno and the Reno Airport. It is located at 5000 feet in the breathtaking California Sierra. It is surrounded by mature pine and cedar trees, between the scenic Middle Fork of the Feather River and the Plumas National Forest. Gold Mountain is a gated community planned by Taliesin , the continuing architectural firm of Frank Lloyd Wright. The Gold Mountain Golf Course and Clubhouse are the focal point of the development. The 23,000 square foot clubhouse named "Nakoma", a Chippewa Indian word, overlooks the Robin Nelson designed 18-hole championship golf course. In 1924, Frank Lloyd Wright originally designed the clubhouse for the Nakoma Golf Club located in one of the first planned suburbs of the United States, near Madison, Wisconsin. The challenging golf course at Gold Mountain is aptly named the "Dragon."

This 956-acre development lies at an approximate elevation of 4,500 feet in the southern section of the beautiful Mohawk Valley. Valley Ranch is located in eastern Plumas County near the tiny town of Clio (pop. 83). This quiet community is located just off of Highway 89 approximately 4 miles south of Graeagle and 50 miles north of Truckee. The Reno airport is only a little over an hour away. The neighborhood boasts large parcels (starting at over and acre) in a small development of only 80+ building sites, many with views of the beautiful Mohawk Valley.

The entrance from Highway 89 takes you through the gorgeous Mohawk Valley up a slight rise to the 350 acre subdivision. Sierra Valley is a broad, open valley in Northern California with a mix of seasonally flooded sagebrush flats, agricultural fields, and wetlands formed by the headwaters of the Feather River. Sierra Valley is surrounded by mountains ranging in elevation from 6 to 8,000 feet.
